Great minds think alike.
I just finished 2 coats on the bottom. The expensive topcoat is being consumed fast.
3/4 gal of primer is just sitting there.

When I called Interlux the "helpful" person wasn't sure about Dacron, but did say that if the topcoat had worked before then the primer should. From the comment I believe he was talking about the flexibility, not adhesion.

We will see.

I actually had done something like this before. I had used 2 part polyurethane (automotive clear coat) for the first 2 layers. The coating soaked thru the cloth very quickly and wetted out the frame, but not evenly. Due to the blotchy look I primed the surface, then topcoated with white.
No apparent issues, but that boat has had very little usage.
