I have skinned a new boat, while painting I have a serious (to me) problem.
After 2 coats of paint I had patterns of nits or peaks of paint. Quite rough to the hand.
I sanded and got a smooth surface, painted again.
The peaks returned.
I shaved them with a single edge razor and painted
They returned and dont seem to be any smaller.
This is the first time in 4 boats this has happened.
Any suggestion as to the cause and a way to get a smooth surface?
My only idea is to put on 2 thick coats of primer, sand as lightly as possibly, then top coat.
I am using Interlux Briteside. It has been used on the previous 3 boats with not issues.
Any suggestions or comments appreciated.
