The MAJOR problem with US suppliers is their frequent insistence on using UPS/FedEx with the consequent bogus and $$ 'brokerage fees' (I don't mind paying the PST/GST/HST) -

If you order something on line to a home address in Canada and goes USPS, it probably will just arrive on your door with maybe a bill for GST collected by Canada Post.

But I know that as a business, all items shipped from a biz (wholesaler) in the US to a biz in Canada must go through brokerage and if it goes USPS, then the package will be stopped at the border until a brokerage firm provides the paperwork. So it is often much simpler to use a courier service like UPS or FED Ex that will do the brokerage for the company automatically and just send the bill. Unfortunately, these cost end up being added to the cost of the product to the consumer. Probably in part of why there is so much talk and complaints for differences between US pricing and Canadian for similar product just across the line. And now with our dollar dropping, it makes it more expensive to import products and stay competitive. yikes,
