Fence posts; interesting example. Makes me consider a cedar board fence bordering one side of my vast estate that has stood for near 20 years, in all weather including one hurricane, posts and all. on the other hand, my end blocks were well encapsulated in epoxy, inside a boat compartment, and didn't make 10 years. I'm dumbfounded as to how they could have disintegrated.

Almost an even bigger mystery is how Uncle Nick saw it coming? Well, I know he said once, but I disregarded the comments as the ravings of a lunatic, and don't know how to search it up now that we know who the nut is.

Another idea is skip blocks, instead glue 1/4" doublers to the sides, where the hole liner pipe passes through, to distribute the loading; The sheer clamps were in fine shape, after all, as were the ash "rub rails" I had decorated the exterior sheer line with.
