I agree. Cabinet scrapers are your friend! I just got a Lie-Nielsen scraper plane. I am anxious to see how it does on epoxy but don't really want to use it for that. I will likely stick to the hand scrapers for epoxy. Like yourself, once I learned the proper way to draw a burr on one I was a believer. I used to use a VW valve as a burnisher and finally bought a proper one. If you are short on cash a car valve is a great burnisher but I would go to a truck repair place and get an old diesel valve. The VW valve was free and I have a ton of them but it was a little too short for the job. I say this just for anyone out there wanting to try scrapers without much investment.

Ironically I am off to scrape some epoxy right now!
