For 50 cents /bd ft, I would buy the whole 300 bd ft!
Alas it is $6.00/ bd ft. That is 4x western red cedar, but it has no knots or other problems, so I think it is only 2x the cost of western red installed.
Cut, sanded, and varnished a sample. It is not quite as pretty as I thought it would be when I saw it rough cut. Not as fragrant as I imagined, also. No telling how long the boards have been cut.

The data says it is stiffer (~20%), Stronger (~35%) and harder (~45%) so I wondered about using a little smaller stringers since it weighs more (~20%). Of course you couldn't thin it by as much as 20% and that really doesn't stop me from buying the same amount of wood.

It would be nice using clear wood for once.
