HI,

Working on a Petrel. I got the strips off the forms, and the inside fiberglassed. Then lost my shop. 2 years later I got back to working on it. The ceder strips obviously dried even though it was stored in an unheated building 100 feet from the Hudson. The hull and deck had pulled back from where they joined by 1/16th to 1/8th of an inch along most of the length of the boat. I made up some epoxy, wood dust past and filled it in. Will now sand and glass the outside. Makes an interesting feature line. Unfortunately it is not uniform.
But the ceder strips must have had more moisture than I thought. I wonder if letting it dry was actually a good thing.
