. . . In my previous example you can make a thin plywood kayak and without any skins it can be a very useful kayak. You can't do that with strip nor foam cores . . .

- ribs can replace the glass skin, at least in a canoe. Of course I'll have to be careful with this one when I finally finish but even in her underwear she's a cutie. She has the look I wanted but partway through the build I discovered my build method followed the Adirondack Guideboat construction sequence - sharp eyes will spot the half-ribs and the bottom plank instead of a keel. I'm a candidate for this decades' Re-inventor Of the Wheel award; that's what comes of spending too much time in boat museums . . .
