Thanks for the advice regarding the temperature, The framework is a series of very light weight triangulated forms, so I don't want to over do the shrinking. I found a good article that suggested starting at 250 degrees.

The gunwales of this kayak are actually two pieces of cedar with the fabric captured between them and with small brass screws holding the outer gunwale to the inner every few inches. Not sure if I should just rely on the pinch or apply adhesive? I have read some people use contact cement, the article suggests using EkoBond, too bad the smallest bottle they sell is a quart. Any thoughts on using Ekobond vs. contact cement vs. just the pinch between the gunwale?

I'm not sure there would be any advantage to gluing the skin to the top center of the triangular framework before attaching at the gunwales? I'm guessing this will cause more problems with little advantage.

When the cover is on, I will most likely use latex paint to provide UV protection and a splash of color.

I'm looking forward to getting started when I get back to the cottage.
