Great Auk - Rounded top deck

Here are two samples of different designs; a Cape Ann Storm and a 14' Great Auk. I built the CA Storm as a longer distance cruiser for LI Sound and the Hudson and the Auk as a beer boat to paddle around after work and as a guest boat. This weekend I took a friend out for her first paddle and gave her the Auk to try out. After 15 min of her struggling to keep it straight, I let her try the CA Storm. She liked the way it tracked and took off leaving me to catch up in the Auk. Yes water line length does make a difference. I guess that the next boat should be something like a Orca Boat Skana to match the speed/ efficiency of the CA Storm and the stability of the Auk.
