The person of interest is a tubing ngineer or the designer at Wenonah/CD. CD may produce the best compromise, a system does not tear the gasket, allowing flexibility between hull and hatch, and easy refastening when the gasket seperates from hull/hatch without a PITA removing old glue.

A more flexible, durable tube with a thicker wall, larger diameter but softer surface so the hatch rim meets a larger contact surface using a compatible superior glue ?

Is there a man amung us who has not said: 'Well, all hatchs leak a little.' ?
