I have been having a major problem getting my Profile to show on the User profiles screen and do not seem to be able to get images from my computer to show in Preview Message although a "cut and paste" of the temp image file name does show that the image has been uploaded to the Kayak Forum server computer.

I reread your comment: You already know how the image upload works. Sorry about that.

Your profile IS listed on the User screen and your messages shows the avatar you've uploaded. That part is working. Send a message to Nick. He might be able to figure out your temp image issue.
