I treat that piece of wood like a baby. It has its own shelf where nobody can throw something on top of it by accident. The tap tone is insane on that piece, and the guy gave me some rough flitches of the same cut in order to make the braces. It's going to be the tonemeister! In fact, one of the reasons I have waited so long to build it is I am still deciding between a Hauser or Ramirez design. I'm also looking for just the right neck wood and have not decided yet to use Spanish cedar, mahogany, or rosewood. Each gives different tone and sustain. I am leaning towards local Cuban Mahogany which I get in a gorgeous ribbon stripe.
Okay, in all honesty, I'm just afraid I'm going to screw up that beautiful piece of wood and would never forgive myself.
