Hi Folks,

I am building the One Ocean Cape Ann Expediton High Deck version.
I have just finished sanding the deck and have to make a decision regarding the cockpit.
For the opening I am going with the shape recommended by Vaclav but I am wondering about recessing the cockpit or leaving it as per the plans.
Are there any advantages for having the cockpit recessed or is it just cosmetic?
How far should the recess go fore and aft of the cockpit hole?
Please take into account that this is my first strip build and my experience in kayaks is very little.
