I am finishing an Arctic Tern 14 for my friend. She wants a compass mounted. I have only found one pic of a compass mounted on a Tern. I also searched for some info on methods of doing so. does anyone have advice and/or pics?

My first advice would be to convince your friend that she would be happy with a 'strap-on' compass, rather than something permanently mounted.

The Suunto Orca is popular:

She should definitely experiment with compass location before making it permanent - some of the compass 'mounts' I see in commercial boats are definitely too far away for me to read easily, even when my glasses aren't covered with water droplets.

Bjorn Thommason has used the movement from the Suunto Orca (discarding the rubber case) as the basis for a permanent deck-mounted compass.
