Paddling in several places up in Canada with lakes filled with tiny inlets, bends and lots of islands, if you don't turn around often to look at the landscape you'll definitely get lost.

I suspect that my new paddling area (in a few years) on the Kentucky lakes will be much the same, lots of little inlets that'll look an awful lot alike. Mostly heavily forested and few visible homes.
