It should hold up fine, back in my windsurfing days I built shortboards using XPS foam and West System Epoxy. They held up fine to the abuse that Bump and Jump sailing put them through. Should be easier to shape as the sander will have less tendency to grab and throw XPS. Two pieces can be epoxied together to obtain the desired thickness..........George
