Just a few minutes ago I was working on getting the water levels evened out on our 3 boilers here at work. Low / no pressure steam is hot and can burn you, pressurized steam can kill.
Leather welding gloves work great btw and are long so protect your arms too. Don't even give a thought to using the new fabric work gloves, will trap steam against the skin, you can't take them off fast enough to prevent burns.
