I've talked with a few builders recently who have asked me if there is going to be another "Newfound Rendezvous".

My answer is no.

Michael Vermouth of Newfound Woodworks did this for a number of years and I think everyone had a great time.

A lot of great people, great memories, oh, and great boats too! Thank you Michael!

However, this Rendezvous, as conceived by Michael was very ambitious, taking a lot of work and time to organize and Michael got burned out.

I've thought about doing something like the "Rendezvous" but closer to the "Meet at the Beach" style where organization is at a minimum, so no one has to get "burned out".

I talked with Nick about this today and he said his misses the "Rendezvous" also and would be interested in exploring the idea of a weekend Rendezvous for next year, possibly September, somewhere in Maine, but perhaps other locations in New England.

I think September is good, obviously it won't be for everyone, but we'd have a better shot at campgrounds and beach sites, rather than competing with the summer crowd.

Finding potential sites, with an easy access beach, areas to set-up display/demos, and local campgrounds will be the first issue.

A place at no cost, or low cost, without miles of red tape attached. On the sea would be nice, but then the Newfound Rendezvous was on a lake and that was just fine.

I put it out to you for your ideas and input.
