You don't need to be a member to post messages here.
You'll notice the 'author name' on some posts is in bold, blue font....those folks have created a 'Profile'. If you do that, you can consider yourself a 'member' here, but it isn't necessary.
Contributors with profiles can upload pictures to the server here; you'll see the 'Upload embedded file: Choose File' button in your message box in that case.
Otherwise, you'll have to link to your pictures on an external server- Picasa, Flickr, and the like.
