Yesterday I attached the hatch lips/gaskets to the underside of the deck on the Expedition Sport I'm building. When I tried the fit of the flush hatches I found that an area on the front hatch cover has delaminated.
My thoughts are that I need to cut back the fibreglass to the next strip join (to try and hide the repair), remove the glass and put on a patch.
If that sounds reasonable, should I butt fit the patch, or extend it onto the adjacent glassed area and then carefully scrape off the overlap.
I would appreciate any advice from someone who has made the same mistake :-)
