I've noticed that on the plans for the Frej I've got from Bjorn he suggests laminating on either side of 10mm camping mattress for the bulkhead behind the seat. I've used 2 inch thick minicell foam for bulkheads on a black pearl. Worked extremely well so far and very, very light.
