Single ply glass works fine for this, I laminate them on a sheet of heat shrunk mylar, makes a nice release layer. The mylar used for wrapping windows in the winter works well and is cheap. If you don't lay it up on a solid surface it's hard to make the single skin waterproof, tends to be full of tiny holes with the open weave of the cloth. These bulkheads are quite flexible but still waterproof.
