Personally I am worried about the sail and mast forces in a SOF. I've never decided how to handle those. But of course I want too much sail - not just a postage stamp.

Kukzu was talking about a Trimaran SOF sailboat. You might talk to him. I don't think he figured out how to handle the loads to his satisfaction.

I had some concerns but what stalled me was the effort it would take to set up the boat and disassemble it. I could tie the mast to the outriggers, double up the frames and build a socket for the base. I would have had to design some of it as I built it. But your right in that if you running any size sail, it would take a lot of stiffening. And if you can't go fast, I am not interested.

What stopped me was assembly and disassembly of the whole thing. I didn't really want to spend an hour setting it up and then a similar amount of time to break it down. I haven't given up, just put the idea on hold for now.
