The WR 180 is an actual kayak. I use it a lot as it is a very user friendly boat. Recommended.

I also have tortured ply boats, one in my shed, and others given to various folks In the area, which are just seam taped 4mm marine ply. These boats are from 20 to 30 years old and some of them suffer real abuse. None of them ever suffer any maintenance. They are still going strong, although none of them are pretty any more.

Real marine ply is a good product. I'll take it over GRP in many instances.

Ordinary so called WBP (water boil proof) used to be almost as good back in the day. I don't know about other places, but the WBP that we get here these days is complete shite, so I would have more faith in an older boat built from generic ply around here than in a more recent one.
