I'm using a single-bungee Immersion Research. They make a multi-bungee model that I will probably use next time.

Most ww kayakers I know who use rand-type skirts are doing it to prevent implosions, not so much to stay dry. Playboating moves often (or always, depending on the trick) put the skirt under the water with current pushing against it. Blowouts are bad. If you watch competitions, most of the paddlers have a "hump" in their skirts right in front of their torsos from a blowup object like a beach ball to give the skirt some stability on the underside to help prevent blowouts. Class V boaters and creek boaters do it just because that's what they face. And, you're also right that most people who use them need help putting them on, especially when they're dry. I had a blowout two years ago in a class II hole. I rolled up without the skirt on and then slowly sank as I filled up with water. I really wished I had a bilge pump- there wasn't a good place to get out to empty the boat.

HOWEVER- even a skirt with a rand doesn't keep things "dry" dry. I used a rand skirt on my Wavesport, and it's not as dry as a bungee skirt on my All-Star.
