It 'ain't necessarily so'......

Indeed it was not so for me! My buddy and I - both well on in years - established that by pitting a 13' so-called "race-bred" kayak against a home-designed and built 11' canoe. At our normal paddling level the canoe pulled ahead, flat out the kayak had the edge for as long as we could maintain the effort, which wasn't long . . . we got the same result after switching seats.
