Skin-on-Frame: Using a roller to apply Corey's Goop?

I just did the underside of my F1 with Corey's Goop and will do the top tomorrow. The friend I had helping me has applied similar finishes as Goop, to aircraft. He's done a ton of it... He said he has always used a sprayer or a roller and wondered why I used a squeegy...! He said it would have gone much easier with a roller...any thoughts?
