I'm sure, as was said, that the Chesapeake does not have any design flaw, it's desire to turn into the wind is just a matter of tweaking the trim.
I want to try weight first and if not easily corrected, I will add a rudder, not something I would want to attempt at the moment.
I thought that the long waterline length relative to the overall length of this boat would make it track rather well, so I was surprised at this problem.
As for trying other boats, not easy to do in a variety of conditions and is time consuming. I'd rather concentrate on making this boat work, which it should, in my opinion. She is the right size and weight for it.
I'm hoping my Shearwater build will not end up with a similar problem.
