So, I finally got around to trying to get the seat out of my Valley Avocet, so I could replace the bungies. The projection at the front of the seat, where the bungies are, could be pulled away from the hull fairly easily, but everywhere else, the edge of the seat seemed to be glued down tight. Either that, or it just fits so tightly that I couldn't budge it. Then just as I was trying to decide what tool would do the least damage, if I jammed it between seat and hull, my brain finally engaged. The only part that's not glued down, is the part where the bungies are.... I didn't have to remove the seat at all! I just pried up the plastic projection, taped a piece of wire to the shock cord, to act as a needle, and threaded it in.
