It is very durable. To me it is the best finish if you want durability. I use Xotic Sunbloct Kleer. (They like to misspell words) which has a UV inhibitor. I have tested it in the tropical sun and dragging it over sandy beaches. Of course it will scratch, but less so than polyurethane or other varnishes.

This is a two-part paint and I have a professional spray rig and do it myself. It cures really fast. You can touch it in 10 to 15 minutes. You spray on coat over coat and build it up quickly. Color sand the final coat for a gloss finish.

You can touch it up with cheaper spray-on clears, but beware- cheap ones like duplicolor are crap and they turn milky in UV.
