Again, I've used both, and find the external much quicker to set up and more stable. I also much prefer to strip and glass the exterior of the hull and then immediately remove from the forms and glass the inside. I then install the forms back into the hull to allow for stripping the deck. By doing it this way the hull maintains the correct shape through the fiberglass/epoxy curing process while I am building the deck. I have heard stories of guys building the entire boat on an internal frame and then removing the hull and deck from the forms, glassing the inside of the hull and setting it aside while they glass the inside of the deck. The first few days of curing are critical, and if the hull starts to relax you can have a bugger of a time getting it to come back. with an internal frame you could put the boat back onto the forms after glassing the inside of the hull, but I don't think many guys do that, they simply wait until the deck is done and then glue the 2 halves together. The other thing some internal SB builders do is use spreader sticks to keep the hull sheer the right dimension, but the way I do it using the forms themselves eliminates that hassle. By glassing the inside of the hull right away and having to insert the forms back into it immediately to strip the deck the hull cures inside and out held firmly in place by the forms. I'm not that smart of a fellow, but I am lazy. They say you always want to hire a lazy person because they will figure out a faster way to do the job :-)
