Windshield silicone, in the hole for 6 years slowly developing a leak. Still stretchy after time.
Start over ? Or try gluing the old fitting, saving the bag then coming apart south of Ketchikan ? There is one more spare fitting. Uno.
New REI bags are less industrial in appearance more like the Aquapac line, slick but not generating confidence.
How about Tide on silicone ? Tide then CHOH ?
Aged nylon fittings...nylon left in a drawer or on the porch...maybe similar to flame treating as the new oily surface dulls, feels less slippery.
