Hi,
I haven't glued nylon, but I have experience with other plastics. Bottom line is test first, and as Bill says, do not try to re-glue to a surface which has had silicone cured to it. You will need to remove enough material to get in past the influence of the original silcone sealant. The more porous, the further in.
Whatever technique you intend to use to prepare the nylon, try it by gluing some nylon to some scrap to see if you get adequate adhesion.to the plastic. Also, you need to confirm that the material that you test with is in fact the same plastic. Looks can be deceiving re. identification of plastic.
Good luck,
Allan Edie
