Fiberglass tape the inside seam as usual, then plane off the outside and fiberglass tape the outside.

What strikes me about this method is that the sheer clamps are fairly thick. So how do they bend around the perimeter of the kayak? Seem like it would be hard to bend the sheer clamps around the tighter curves.
