Skin-on-Frame: stringer placement *PIC*

I'm making slow progress on my Rangeley SOF design development and am beginning to mess around with stringer count and placement. The frames on the prototype are 3.5in width 1/2 Meranti and I'm using ball bungees to temporarily attach and adjust the stringers (which will likely be 7/8 square cypress in the final design). I'm expecting 3 or 4 stringers per side, but beyond that, is there any art or science that you designers can offer up to assist with placement?
