Sorry It is the fill strip used to fill in the rocker at bow and stern used for to reduced bending of strip in upswept areas. some of it will be a end pour . It is easy to remove over beveled strips with a water mist and steam iron just wait for the glue to turn white again and slice out with a razor blade.

I hadn't realized that cheaters are needed for kayaks since they are generally much narrower and flatter than canoes. Nonetheless, the small hand-held steamers that are sold for cleaning out dirt from the corners of showers and suchlike are ideal for softening glue as they provide a narrow precise stream.
