I am planning to add a keep strip to my SKUK Explorer. P&H says use tape+gelcoat, SKUK says the same, but everything I read in forums says use Epoxy. Is there a reason for the different advice? Maybe I'm just reading the advice wrong...

Below are what I believe to be contradictory suggestions.
