Any suggestions on how to lay out the decklines?

I have never built or paddled a Petrel, but I have laid out my perimeter lines with a nod toward the Valley Nordkapp Kayak. This kayak was designed and built for the 1975 Nordkapp expedition. As such a lot of thought was put into maximum survivability in extreme conditions. It has since been selected for other arduous expeditions.

I would use Maroske fittings because 1) they are strong, 2) don't add appreciable weight, 3) streamlined such that nothing is likely to catch on them above or below deck, 4) do not require any metal screws or other hardware (my own personal bias) and 5) fast and easy to make. If you search for "Maroske" on this forum you will find several threads discussing different methods for making them. If you Google "Maroske" you will find youtube videos and blogs on how to make them.
