Hello all, I am nearing completion of my first boat, and have a couple questions. I fiberglassed the inside and out of deck and hull a couple weeks ago, and plan to join the halves over winter break. When I prepare the surfaces where the tape on the seam will overlap the already glassed parts, how should I sand? If I just use 100 grit, will the scratches still show if more epoxy/glass is applied on top, or do I need to sand through higher grits?

After the halves are joined and I feather out the joints, is it good to sand the whole boat and apply a thin coat or 2 of epoxy before finishing sanding and varnishing, only reapply around the seams, or just finish sand and varnish?

Am I correct in thinking that prior to varnishing, I should start with 100 grit and work up to 220?

And wet sand between varnish coats with like 440 or something?

I'm real proud of my woodwork, and don't want the finish dulled by scratches from not sanding properly. Thanks so much for your help!
