I have everything except for the tape and whatever other additives I use. Assuming I go epoxy route - I don't have any gelcoat...
Thanks Bill and Brian!
My hull is grayish and the trim is green, and even though I don't care too much about the appearance - I was thinking of using some aluminum powder instead of the graphite since I believe a metallic gray will match slightly better than the addition of the graphite powder (which I believe comes out more black). Not sure what would happen if I mixed the two; probably just a mess.
Should I sand all the way through the existing gelcoat or just rough it up? There are currently sections of the hull that ALL the gelcoat has been worn off and the fiberglass is exposed.
I was thinking I'd use two strips of 2" diolen tape, but can't find any. So I'll probably just use 2" fiberglass (I was going to use kevlar, but it's about twice the price - and more yellowish).
Just one layer of epoxy, or multiple (apply-dry-apply)?
Is the silica just to keep the epoxy from being too "liquidy" and thicken it to keep it from running?
Thanks!
