There's a few other areas where B&C will be a lot more work. Many times in KAYAK building, you have strips ending in long V shaped ends and if you're stripping around very strong curves which happens on the back deck of the Outer Island. Yes, B&C is stronger as a side by side comparison of just attaching strips. The popularity of it started with canoes where most of the strips travel parallel to one another for the entire build. If you build more than one boat, you have to run your strips through a sander or planer to make sure they are spot on in thickness before running them through a B&C set up. And lastly many, many boats have been built with flat edge strips and hold up fine with the most abusive use.
I have done one boat B&C and I personally found it a lot more work and in some areas I had to go to flat edge to make it work. But if someone wants to mill B&C and work that way, there's certainly plenty of room for everyone with different ideas in this pastime.
