Once wet out with resin the glass becomes much more compliant to taking on the necessary shapes. For this reason I cut off most of the overhanging cloth before I start, because dry cloth at the overhangs at the ends will be less workable.

Cutting too close to the sheer can result in tears though. I usually leave about two inches in the main body of the boat and increase to about six inches at the ends, and leave about two inches extra extra length beyond the ends.

If you find the glass won't conform at the ends when wet out, make sure that it is saturated in the offending areas right to the end of the fabric, including overhanging fabric.

It still impresses me how much the glass will actually conform when wet out with just a gentle pull here and there.

I know the photo has less stem curve than your boat, but it will still work.
