Thanks for the input. Still not decided on what to do.
Looks to me that Nick's comment on the width means that is the last thing I should modify.
It does seem that this boat has a more pronounced V bottom which would "possibly" affect secondary stability beneficially. Not having the lines yet I can't tell if you could really tip it enough to expose more of the bottom to more quickly shift the center of bouyancy to the opposite side quicker than a flat bottomed boat.
My real concern is the cockpit side height for short bodies. Raising the seat obviously affects the stability, but if Nick says it is still good I expect I'll trust that, with a little reservation about the average person who might have normally paddled the boat as a test.
I did want to get the precut forms from CLC and eliminate some personal error possibility.
Something will happen!
