hi....

i need a little help. i am getting close to finishing the stripping on my night-heron high deck project and have made a mistake around the front of the cockpit opening that i need to resolve. (note i modified the foredeck design a bit by flattening out the foredeck section to avoid the 'peak' that is in the original drawings)

i clearly didn't plan ahead properly. and i am having trouble completing the stripping in the neighborhood of the front of the cockpit's last 'full-frame' (#10 on the night heron) and the adjacent frame in the cockpit (#9) where the top of the frame was precut in the expected shape after the cockpit was cut out (so it looks like it is missing its deck section)

becuase of the order i layed strips, i can't bring the whole thing together between sections 9 and 10 without a) loosening and repositioning strips that i already glued on the deck (with titebond wood glue) or make some cuts on the deck so i can bring the side of the kayak up in a way that it properly intersects with the deck. (see attached pictures).

the first picture is a shot from the back of the boat looking at section 9 towards section 10. I placed two scrap strips between the planes i am trying to pull together to give a sense of the misalignment i need to address.

the second picture is from the side of the boat into the affected area.

is there a good method for loosening existing glued strips without cutting them?

are there other approaches to making the needed correction?

would appreciate any advice on how to approach fixing this/addressing my mistake.
