I once looked at an old Corvette with a fancy custom paint job.
There was a single 2' long scratch on one side, very visable.
No possible way to fix the paint job (it had a paisley print look).
The guy wanted extra money for the "custom" paint.
All I could do with it would have been to paint over it.
No Sale. I've regretted it for 30 years, but could not have afforded it with the double hit of the paint.
The same could be said of all the van conversions custom painted in the same era.
