I am really anxious to see the progress on your Yukon. I am currently half way through building a standup paddleboard for my daughter using Paulownia, Western Cedar and Tatajuba for the dark accent. I plan to build a Yukon next to go with the Great Auk I completed last year and I was thinking how it might look in Paulownia with maybe some walnut accents. Please post some pictures during your build. It sounds like it is going to look really nice.

I have enjoyed working with the Paulownia so far. It is a lot softer than the cedar and seems to plane and sand pretty nicely. I haven't got to the epoxy or varnish stage yet so I can't comment on that. I got my boards by mail from a supplier in California that seems to mainly sell to surfboard builders.
