Actually Jeff got it right... He mentioned the sand paper. & I had some 80grit sanding belts
in a drawer, cut them to fit the drum. remarkable difference in the life span / cutting / heat build up.
The sandpaper I have been using on all other projects is not fit for wood tougher than Maple.
However, cutting up belts is a little expensive... So I'm looking into the link Terry sent about the
"Olivercorp" abrasive bits if I can find the dang pricing, as I do plan on making a couple more of the bow's
& don't want to keep changing paper so often.
Its hard after building a Cedar kayaks & switching to such a hard wood.
