I suspect you could make a comfortable seat, I also suspect it'll be hard to control how thick it'll be and you may be sitting quite a bit higher in the boat than you might want.

I think the main control would be how big the bag is and how many beads are in it. It would probably take some trial and error, but I imagine you could get it to sit quite low with the right combination. That combined with half a pvc tube to form a gap under it for water.

Also for Allan, I think the point would be to take it for a paddle, or sit on dry land and go through the motions. That way you form the seat for motion, not just relaxing.

As for the heat comment, The amount of resin is relatively small for an full car seat. I can't imagine there's enough resin involved in a pan seat for a kayak that heat would become too much of an issue.
