If your cheek plates (either side of the seat) are attached both the coaming and the hull you can just loop the cable around either one of these to lock it.

Usually more helpful if you do this to make a short cable that goes around the cheek plate then you can loop your locking cable thru that short one, easier than having the reach around the cheek plate every time.
